Herring in spicy tomato sauce with avocado

Smoked Herring Fillets, Briosa Tuna Fillets, El Manar Spiced Moroccan Sardines!

We could not be happier with the warm weather and all it brings. For us, the best things about summer are: a bountiful urban garden bed, weeding (like, a lot of weeding), blooming flowers, meals outdoors, long walks with our dog, a good beach day, and picnics (where we, of course, try new tinned fish). While not all may be right in the world, we can still be grateful. We are certainly grateful for summer, and YOU! Please enjoy these tins, condiments, and recipes, as well as this uplifting tongue twister:  “Whether the weather be fine, or whether the weather be not, Whether the weather be cold, or whether the weather be hot, we’ll weather the weather, whether we like it or not.”

Smoked Herring Fillets – These wild Latvian smoked herring fillets are a savory delight. If you think that bagels and smoked salmon are a match made in heaven, you should definitely try smoked herring! Toast your favorite bagel, smear generously with cream cheese, top with some pieces of smoked herring, and sprinkle with your favorite toppings like sliced onions, capers, dill, tomatoes, etc.

Tuna Fillets – Use these high quality tuna fillets for your next quick and healthy lunch. Spread the packet of the included mayo and mustard on a wrap, add veggies like lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded carrots, microgreens….whatever helps you get those vitamins in! Top with a generous amount of your delicious onion and laurel-seasoned tuna and wrap it up nice and tight to make sure everything stays together while you enjoy.

Spiced Moroccan Sardines – Nothing like a sardine-stuffed appetizer to get the dinner party started! Make a pate with your spiced sardines by gently mashing them in a medium bowl with a fork. Add in the included packet of Tony C’s for a savory and spicy flavor upgrade. Mix in a tablespoon or two of cream cheese for consistency, and stuff your pate in a mini pepper, tomato or hollowed cucumber.
